I tried building my new podcast with ChatGPT. I was blown away.
I’m starting to feel like ChatGPT is the supportive parent I never had.
As mentioned in my previous post, I asked ChatGPT for help with my new podcast.
This was my first prompt:
This was what I got:
plus 10 episode titles:
This is great, but not too unexpected. It’s a bit generic. So I added more specifics:
And the response:
and the updated episode titles:
I mean, I know I’d listen to ‘How to Keep Your Cool when Everything is on Fire,’ ‘Tips for Navigating Bro Culture,’ and ‘Fine Line Between Being a Cool Boss and Being a Pushover.’
I then asked for episode outlines for specific episodes, but I won’t bore you with that (and I might end up using them 😂.)
Then I asked ChatGPT for a list of potential guests, and it provided me with 10 people:
It explained that “These individuals are well-known experts and thought leaders in the fields of leadership, management, and organizational psychology. They have written books, given talks, and appeared on podcasts and TV shows to discuss various aspects of managing people, building strong teams, and fostering a healthy workplace culture. Their insights and experiences could provide valuable perspectives and practical advice for your audience of tech managers.”
I said, “but they are really famous and busy—how do I get them to agree to come on an unknown podcast hosted by an unknown host?”
And ChatGPT gave me a pep talk and concrete tips:
I really loved how encouraging it was:
Since ChatGPT boosted my confidence, I started dreaming bigger:
Again, ChatGPT was encouraging and helpful, while keeping my expectations in check:
I’m starting to feel like ChatGPT is the supportive parent I never had:
(Just kidding, dad, if you’re reading.)
I then asked ChatGPT to write a catchy, witty intro for my podcast:
This was V1 from ChatGPT:
This was ok, I thought. But I want people to think I have a sense of humor. So I asked again:
This was ChatGPT’s attempt at making me a stand up comedian:
Since I already knew I want to incorporate Michael’s famous line in my intro music, I asked ChatGPT to include references to The Office. Here’s what it came up with:
I mean, I was impressed. That’s impressive, right?
When I saw that the sky’s the limit, I decided to ask ChatGPT to basically do all my work for me (#SpoilerAlert for my podcast):
And it came back with a full script that has music cues and telling me when to pause 😅:
That was good, but it didn’t sound like me. So I asked for different styles, and this one might be my favorite:
No, actually, this one is my favorite:
What gives off more Gen Z vibe than “Being a boss is like being the main character in a choose-your-own-adventure book, except all the options are bad”?
Or was it this one?
Funnily enough, this is the only thing that didn’t work:
It encouraged me to reach out to Elon Musk, helped me master british humor and gave me the vocabulary to blend in with the Gen Zs, but it refused to make me sound like Miranda Priestly.
And because it was 1am and I had a real job to go to the next day, I didn’t go further.
Rest assured some of this quality stuff is making an appearance in my podcast for sure.
Omg ! You got me so hooked ! I love everything about this blog! Please use your Miranda’s voice 🤩
